Curious to see if Reese can light a fire under this O. Not expecting much but the Jets are pretty bad so maybe 20+ points?
We'll see. Just our luck the Jets will find their offensive groove and lay 30 on us.
At this point I'm just watching to see if GD can show something. Anything. But even if he does it's against the Jets so it may not mean much.

He’s proven that his better moments with us were the aberration.

He is the not the coach to take us to the promised land and frankly this season is an indictment on his ability to judge talent.

RevJJ I would probably walk away from the Browns if they did that. It was difficult to stick by them with the Watson trade, both in terms of ethics and football. Grabbing Gruden post Watson trade would be completing Haslems evolution into the Lucifer version of Jerry Jones.

Just got done watching the replay. Wow! After 2 weeks this is the best they can do? That was horrible.

I'll give the D a pass They played well enough to win. The ST's. Well, this site needs a vomit emoji to describe that performance. The O outside of Judkins is pathetic. Dillion had maybe 2 good throws but a lot of WTF throws. I was hoping to see some improvement but it's time to take the bench Mr Dillion. They need to start Sanders. If he's just as bad then so be it. Dillion is toast. Of course our O line is just a 5 man turnstile. It's amazing how bad our tackles really are.

On the plus side at least we are now ahead of the Jets for the draft. It sucks that we as fans can only celebrate draft order as a win.

We wrote the book on how to lose winnable games. And every year we had add four or five new chapters.

I thought Rees called game planned and called a better game than Stefanski's tired and predictable patterns. But the offensive line can't open holes and the tackles can't seal the edges in pass protection. The QB has less consistent accuracy than a broken lawn sprinkler. Top it off with one of the worst special teams performances ever seen, and sprinkle in some undisciplined dumb penalties and viola. Another putrid kettle of dogshit.

The Browns are, and has been, one of the worst organizations for the last 40 years. The last moment in the light happened during Bernie and Marty’s tenure. Hell, fucking Art Modell (spit) was our last good owner. I had hoped that Al Lerner was going to build a real organization, but alas, he didn’t live long enough to get us on the right track.

So we’re on the cusp of rebuild v. 10.5. What should they do?

Here’s a hint.

Don’t pick a QB in April!

We’ve seen that movie. Think about Tim Couch. We killed him the same way we’re killing Gabriel - not that I think he’s as good as Couch. We’ll kill the next QB the same way unless we build the foundation first.

I think we are at least two years away from being a contender. More likely three or four years from real competitiveness.

That assumes they do the right moves moving forward now.

Fire Berry and Stefanski. Berry can’t pick players and Stefanski can’t motivate or engage the players he has.
Be smart in the 2026 Draft. Pick Arville Reese and Carnell Tate. Then spend every other pick and free agent dollar in the OL and DL.
Let Gabriel and Sanders fight it out with some veteran for the QB spot for 2026.
Use 2027 to continue building the foundation - more OL and defensive players. I won’t kid you, if Julian Sayin continues his development, pick him if you can. If he grows like I think he will, he’s going to be REALLY good.

This might require a huge move that will look like a step backward. I love Myles Garrett but I’d trade him. He’s the most valuable commodity we have. You might get 2 or 3 first round picks and dig out from The Watson debacle.

If you pull that out you could end up with 3 first round picks in 2026 and two in 2027 and maybe 2 in 2028.

I know. I’m dreaming.

S4Aero I’m with you in building the offensive foundation before you get the QB, if you truly believe a legit QB isn’t there. And these two have no business selecting a QB based on the last 4 seasons.

We need to draft legit corner stone players at LT, WR, LB and DB. Ward will be retiring soon he’s never had plans to play more than ten years. I wouldn’t trade Garrett, not yet. Hopefully we don’t at all but not until 2027. Hes gonna be good for at least 3 more years. And truth be told I’m selfish and want another Brown in the HOF.

Letting Baker leave this organization was as egregious as bringing in Watson. We can make the argument letting Dorsey go was equally as bad.

Since the loss to the Chiefs in 2021 playoffs what’s Kevin’s record? Hello?

I'm picking Caleb Downs and Tate over Reese if going non QB in the first after a trade down and an extra number one the following year.
You can only go that route however after playing Sanders first so he can be wetted and you can assure yourself the clay is there. as that's your proposed starter next year with a new HC.
Gabriel i dump off at the homeless center and won't even waste a roster spot, not even for a practice position.
and I use a fourth orfifth rounder deveolment shot to do what you're supposed to do and draft a raw QB with enough talent to be a starter instead of what these Bozos did in wasting a starter talent top 100 pick on a UDFA talent in the third, who after three or four years of being kicked around and cut from enough rosters , might make somebodies practice roster.
Certainly you find a vet like Mariotta or even bring back a Flacco with a real HC to go thru camp, but you don't assure that third rounder a spot just because you drafted him cut down day , if he's a dog you expose him to waivers to your practice squad and or sign better.
If he's good you just keep three QB's while he develops and you don't lose a game forcing him in for an emergency.
The following year , should Shedeur marvelously pan out as your staret the fourth rounder takes the mariotta role and he fends off the next fifth rounder for his backup spot or your developmental trade piece following the Green Bay model where they draft a signal caller every year.

I’ve been arguing about Garrett with a year and a half. He’s wanted to trade him before the 2025 Draft. Like you, I love Garrett. He’s the only first ballot HOF player we’ve seen since Thomas.

But the horrendous trade for Watson has put us in an awful position. On the surface, we lost a QB and three first round picks. In reality, we gutted our QB, OL, WR room and Defense. We tried to patch the entire team with second round picks and second tier free agents. Our records prove how well that worked.

You said it. We need damn near everything. We aren’t going to fix this mess one first round pick per year. So we’re at a point where we play the hand that we dealt ourselves, or we make a bold plan to change it.

The outline I laid out is one way to do that. It addressed two key spots in 2025 with Reese and Tate. Like you said, we need a lot. If we can leverage Garrett’s value, we might pick up some of the talent we passed on for the Assaulter.

I don't know. If there's a QB available who has all the traits you have to take him. Not saying he would even start next year but how could you say no. I know Brady is the exception but he's why NE win all those SB's. He's why Tampa won one. A good QB opens up the offense.

We have issues but it starts behind center. Also if we go QB you have to get some kind of guru to teach him. Who that is I don't know. Maybe Brady himself. Look what Lamar has done for the rats since his return.

Now if that guy isn't there get the best O lineman, WR, guard etc.
