The American Revolution was always my favorite, too, so the first graduate level history class I took was on the Era of the American Revolution.
It was taught by a six-foot-six 90year old professor emeritus who was so expert in his field, he could tell you everything that happened on every single day in any of the 13 colonies during the war. Seriously. He could also give an hour-by-hour blow-by-blow account of all the battles.
One night during the semester, as was his tradition, he showed up to class wearing an actual, genuine Revolutionary war captain’s uniform. It was worn by his great-great-something grandfather and passed down the generations. Even more shocking was the uniform fit him perfectly as his ancestor was also six-foot-six.
