It’s so true. The Plan has clearly been to lose, and get this - deliberately spending / burning 3rd and 5th round draft capital to ensure it is the most OPTIMAL POSSIBILITY.

Any other scenario that explains the QB picks and moves, Gabriel in the third and then another QB in the fifth, letting Pickett go, trading Flacco, is hair-on-fire stupidity and incompetence.

What could Sanders show on this offense, as a rookie, that would make his “development”, mean anything? What would have been the point of red shirting him and then picking a first round QB next year? How would he have ever seen the field short of a trade and injury? Was he supposed to languish on the third team next year “developing”? That would lead to what, trying to trade him next season for a 4th? What about Gabriel?

I’m rambling.

The whole thing makes my fucking head hurt.

If the Browns want to develop a QB, Sanders is the way to go. Trade Dillon this offseason while he still has a touch of value. If Mendoza isn’t available to draft, bring in a vet and keep Sanders in the QB room next season.

DonnyUv2 I’m not handing the keys to the franchise over to Sanders. I’m just comparing him to Gabriel. Sanders showed a little bit of a spark which means he deserves another shot or so to see what he has. I didn’t see any spark in Gabriel whatsoever. He’s a 3rd round bust. It happens. Time to move on. I’m still Drafting a QB next year assuming the guy we want is available. If not. Let’s bring in another veteran and let Sanders learn more in the QB room.
